Athletics Blog post

Tomorrow it is athletics and I feel nervous and I even have butterflys in my tummy.  In the 200m I want to try and run really fast.  My favourite event is the long jump because it is fun.

Tomorrow it is Athletics and I feel very nervous i even have butterfly's in my tummy
and I even want to achieve 200m sprints, but long jump is my favourite event.

Math - time

In  maths we are learning about time. I have learned that these numbers 12,3,6 and 9
all have special meanings.  The special meanings are o'clock quarter to quarter past and
half past.

Athletics

I liked practicing throwing because it is fun and it helps us to throw higher.
I have learned to throw from the chest by pushing it straight out and up. 

Healthy eating

Long Jump

This week room 7  have been learning to do long jump. Tomorrow it is going to be our last day doing long jump.
For long jump you need to...

• land with a motorbike landing
• step and jump off one foot
• land on two feet

Swimming

Splash!  I dived into the pool with Lucy. On the hydro slide I felt a little bit nervous about like I said Lucy went down with me and she was in the front. When we got  at the end water splashed all over us.

Maths

Today we are learning about maths week.
I am writing some maths on the number of the day.

Flight

 My paper plane flies high and far away.  It twirls like a tornado it's like red zooming paper. It zooms so fast that it pushes the wind and lands
with a bang.  It turns and flips. It lands with a flip. 
  

Matariki

Last term we celebrated  Matariki. I enjoyed eating the kai and peeling the potatoes.

Writing reflection

My Mask Reflection

We made masks to represent ourselves.
I enjoyed gluing the paper mache on my mask with my friend.
I painted my mask  pink.
I put a flower for the eye and for my ether eye I did beads.
I put glitter for the nose.
I painted the mouth  blue  because it is my favourite colour.
I put butterflies for the cheeks and hearts because I like hearts .

Making Crystals

Yesterday we mad crystals. First we got a cup and  then we got some water with some sugar in it we put it in the cup we got an ice -block stick and tied some of the string on to it and then we waited  for it to dry in the sun and we wrote our name on it. 

Glow worm life cycle

Glow worms first lay eggs. Then they build a nest. They turn into a pupa and then hatch into an adult fly. They live for 3 days.

Waitomo Caves

Waitomo  Caves.

 First we were in the caves and I cried a little bit in there.
Then we went inside the caves and it was dark. It was Anthony  and  Brandon's birthday
and after that we had  morning tea and then we when to the museum. There was a
movie. .
We listened to a talk about how caves are formed. . After that  we went and  we had lunch and
we had a bush work and it was a little bit muddy under my feet.
And in the museum. We took turns to go in the tunnel.
                                   

There was just a glow!

One dark night there was a glow in the tent. We got scared. Mum and dad my sister and Naia were scared as well. We tried  going to sleep but we just couldn't sleep. We were too scared. We got out of the tent . We started to laugh and smile because it was only a glow in the sky.
